New NDIS Updates: What You Need to Know

Julie O'Donovan

The NDIS has recently announced important updates to its legislation, introducing clear lists of Included and Excluded supports. These changes bring much-needed clarity and certainty to both participants and providers.

This marks the first review of these guidelines since the NDIS began, reflecting current practices and ensuring a more streamlined approach to funding.

Effective from 3 October 2024, these lists will help participants easily understand what the NDIS will fund and how their funding can be used for specific purchases.

At Wonsie, our core range of products and accessories, designed to support incontinence, fall under the categories of ‘Modified and Adaptive Clothing’ and ‘Products to Manage Incontinence.’ These are detailed in the 2024 NDIS Inclusion document (page 8) under Assistive Products for Personal Care and Safety.

At Wonsie, we are committed to providing products that make everyday life easier for those with special needs.

Why choose a registered NDIS provider?

Julie O'Donovan

Wonsie has been a registered NDIS provider since it was first rolled out in 2017. Choosing to go through a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider like Wonsie over an unregistered business offers significant advantages, ensuring a higher quality of service and greater peace of mind for participants. Registered NDIS providers must meet stringent government standards, which encompass qualifications of staff, safety protocols, and quality of care.

Another benefit of using a registered NDIS provider like Wonsie is the protection and accountability it offers. Registered providers undergo regular audits and assessments by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, providing a structured and transparent process for handling complaints or issues. With Wonsie, participants receive high-quality adaptive clothing, and the company can directly claim payments from the NDIS, simplifying the payment process and reducing administrative burdens. This combination of protection, accountability, and financial transparency makes registered NDIS providers like Wonsie, a more dependable choice for maximising the value of NDIS plans.

Wonsie Gives Back: Supporting Children with Disabilities in the Philippines

Wonsie Gives Back: Supporting Children with Disabilities in the Philippines 💙

Wonsie recently partnered with Queen of the Most Holy Rosary (QMHR) to support children in the Philippines under the care of the Missionaries of the Poor. Many of these children, who have disabilities, autism, and special needs, struggled with keeping their clothing secure, leading to discomfort and hygiene challenges.

To help, Wonsie donated adaptive Back-Zip Wonsies, providing a comfortable, secure, and dignified solution. Our mission is to support individuals with special needs and give back to communities in need.
